Natig Khashimov (born in 1984), a disabled person of the 2nd category, was repeatedly harassed by the Sumgayit city police. On May 12, 2023, he was detained by police officers once again on the street and, after being taken to the Sumgayit City Police Department, subjected to brutal torture. According to his family, "Natig was severely tortured and beaten, demanding that he sign a confession written by the police. But he endured it for a long time and refused to sign. However, after the police threatened to arrest his family members, Natig lost his composure and signed a confession, later claiming on video that the drugs allegedly found in his pocket were his."
