According to Neymat Karimli's lawyer, his client Salayev rejected the charges brought against him:
"He said that a planned provocation had been carried out against him. Last night, at a bus stop in Lokbatansky Circle, a man with a knife attacked him, insulting Salayev. In order to defend himself, Salayev pushed the man away and wanted to leave the area. However, a few minutes later, police officers detained Salayev."
According to the lawyer, Salayev declared a hunger strike in protest from the day of his detention.
In turn, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that on the night of February 7, a resident of the village of Sahil, Natik Suleimanov, was stabbed in the stomach and arm. The attacker fled the scene. The wounded man was hospitalized. Police officers detained the suspect, Zamin Salayev.
