About the event

Background & Rationale

As transnational corporations (TNCs) continue to expand their operations globally, ensuring respect for human rights within corporate activities and supply chains has become a pressing concern. Weak due diligence mechanisms often lead to labor exploitation, environmental degradation, and other human rights violations. This side event will highlight the essential role of human rights due diligence in preventing corporate-related abuses and ensuring accountability.

Objective

The event aims to:

• Examine the responsibilities of TNCs under international human rights frameworks.

• Discuss key challenges in implementing effective due diligence mechanisms across supply chains.
