The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has requested that Azerbaijan submit judicial decisions relating to Armenian prisoners held in Baku. The request represents a significant step in international scrutiny of Azerbaijan's treatment of detainees following the Karabakh conflict.

The legal status of Armenian prisoners detained in Azerbaijan after the 2023 military operation in Karabakh remains a central international concern. The ECHR's request signals that Azerbaijan's compliance with European human rights standards is under increasing review.

Separately, Ruben Vardanyan, the former Karabakh leader held in an Azerbaijani prison, has reportedly invited Armenia's human rights ombudsman to visit Baku, stating that his wife is also ready to accompany the visit. The invitation is seen as an effort to bring independent oversight to the conditions of Armenian detainees.
