Two members of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), Farid Guliyev and Valishanov Hasanov, have been administratively arrested for 30 days. They are accused of petty hooliganism and disobeying police orders.

The party believes that both individuals are being persecuted for political reasons.

According to the PFPA, Farid Guliyev and Valishanov Hasanov lost contact in the second half of the day on November 6.

The following day, it became known that Guliyev had been arrested for 30 days.

Hasanov's fate was only clarified on November 11.

A lawyer has been hired to protect the rights of the arrested individuals and will file appeals.

The PFPA considers the charges against the activists to be fabricated.

The party is convinced that Guliyev and Hasanov were arrested only because they had been driving the party head, Ali Karimli, in their cars in recent days.

The party noted that over the past six months, 10 PFPA members who voluntarily served as drivers or bodyguards for Karimli have been arrested.

The PFPA states that through such arrests, the authorities aim to deprive Karimli of the support of his followers and isolate him.
