Guterres spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters on May 4 that the secretary-general is very concerned about Mohammadi's health. He asked authorities to give her medical care. She needs it because of her health problems.
US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz shared the news on his social media account on May 5. He said Mohammadi was treated badly in prison. She was speaking out against the regime's violence against women and opponents. Waltz asked Tehran to give her care.
The Nargiz Mohammadi Foundation said on May 1 that Nargiz Mohammadi was taken to a hospital in Zanjan. Her health got worse quickly. She lost consciousness twice. Had a severe cardiac arrest. She is in condition.
Her brother, Hamidreza Mohammadi told reporters on May 2 that family members saw her in the hospital's care unit. Mohammadi's condition is still critical. She is breathing with a machine.
