Occupation:

Charges:

Arested:

Status:

According to court records, during his court appearance, Ganja resident Elshan Alakbarov (born 1978) pleaded not guilty to the charges and stated that on October 21, 2023, three police officers suddenly grabbed him on the street and took him to the Ganja Main Police Department. There, he was told that a man who had come from Baku to pick him up was in the department head's office and that his arrest was a "contract." One of the officers, Shahin, pulled a package from a closet and said, "This is yours, put it in your pocket." To which Elshan Alakbarov replied, "If this is my package, then why did it come out of your closet and not my pocket?" In response, this Shahin approached him and hit him in the right ear, saying, "I'm telling you calmly now, don't act up, take it as your own, you'll get a year and a half.

Then you'll be released." Alakbarov again protested that he wasn't a drug addict and didn't use drugs, to which Shahin pointed out that someone had come from Baku to get him, and that if he didn't comply, things would get even worse. He then described what Alakbarov would go through, including the fact that drugs would definitely be found in his house, and pointed to three people holding white packages of drugs and a video camera that would record the discovery. After this, Elshan Alakbarov was forced to agree and stated on video that he was a drug addict, that he had once seen drugs (10.154 grams) on the side of the road and taken them out of curiosity. He was then detained by police when he tried to throw the drugs away.

However, the judge considered Elshan Alakbarov's testimony that the drugs did not belong to him and were planted by police as defensive in nature and an attempt to evade criminal liability.
