Rustam Asgarov (born 2003), an activist with the Muslim Unity Movement, was detained on April 11, 2024, by unknown individuals in civilian clothes at a shopping center in the Khirdalan settlement, where he worked as a salesperson. It was later revealed that he had been arrested by police officers, taken to their headquarters in the Khirdalan settlement, where they began brutally beating the young believer. Only two days after his arrest he was taken to the Absheron District Court.
