In 2021, Shahin Hajiyev was repeatedly detained by the police, and was twice arrested administratively for 30 days. The fact that Shahin Hajiyev is under constant persecution by the police is due to his harsh critical remarks about the authorities on social media.
In his address to the public, he stated that he was arrested on order based on fabricated charges. Hajiyev stated that he signed the protocols under torture. According to the activist, no examinations were conducted after his detention, and falsified reports were attached to the case. Hajiyev further stated:
“They wrote that the forensic drug examination of November 29 established that I suffer from heroin abuse. However, no examination was conducted on November 29. I have never used cigarettes or alcohol.”
The PFPA is convinced that the real reason for the activist’s arrest is his critical publications on social media about the authorities.
